A creation of a cold, narrative atmosphere reflecting the time of the Great Plague of London (1665-1666).
Two guidelines were used to capture this horrifying atmosphere. First, is Daniel Defoe´s novel ”A Journal of the Plague Year“; all lyrics inspired by this novel. Second - the harsh ambiance of 1980's industrial music, created by utilizing equipment from that and preceding eras, analogue synthesizers and sound technology as: EMS VCS 3, ARP 2600, Doepfer A-100, Roland TR-808, Moog Source, Roland Alpha Juno, Yamaha SS30, Doepfer Vocoder, Roland Space Echo RE-201 and many more.

"... many people had the plague in their very blood, and preying upon their spirits, and were in themselves but walking putrefied carcases whose breath was infectious and their sweat poison". A visitation of the plague was a divine punishment centuries ago and nowadays the disease works as a trigger to discover evil within, examine human nature via catalyst of a dramatic and tragic event from the past since the plague years come and go in a Camus manner. The sound is melancholy addictive, it infects, it spreads and then it is just pure existential deliverance. Irklis story has a moral in every part of the album and their whole conduct is a pattern. The music corresponds to a blazing star or comet mentioned in the journal: now of languid colour, and its motion very heavy, solemn and slow; then bright and sparkling, flaming, and its motion swift and furious. I'd call the overall laconic structure minimal, though each track possesses an array of catchy ambient textures to burst into a melody or song in a conventional way ("A Sallow Sign In The Sky", "No Hope, No Limit", "Lasting" or "100,000 Souls"). Rhythmic analogue music of Irklis reminds me some popular LOKI names, Antlers Mulm for example, but Irklis are maturer, more transcendental in an attempt to discover the root of wickedness within man and the price we pay for it.
