For their eponymous debut, the Trackheadz don't venture far from solid club-based house, though they put their funky spin on things, like the bass on "I Believe in Freedom" or the synth blips of "Night Koder." The growing strings on "Our Music" lend a lovely easy-listening vibe, while Latin spice heats up the jazzy "Amor Por Ti" before becoming the centerpiece of "This Thing Called Jazz." But surprisingly, it's the synth filters that make "My Love" more memorable, even if "Jah Shall Come" tries to distinguish itself with dub elements. I can't say that the album does much to break out of the pack of similar material, but I'm not sure it wants to. It mainly wants to move you, and to that end, one can feel the pure pleasure on "Daddy Rich" and the romance in the samples on "All for You." The hip-hop of "Gettin' High" ends the album achieving what the album itself wants: a nice, temporary high. Nothing deep, just good fun.
