Found this in a used bin recently. Haven't heard in a very long time. Ever watched a B movie that was so cheesy that it actually circled around to being cool in an unintentional sort of way? Kilroy Was Here is the musical equivalent of that. A guilty pleasure. Songs that are far more catchy than they have any right to be. Of course, Mr Roboto is a mainstay of music pop culture but outside of that this album really should have been, and has been, swept away into the dustbin of history. But I'd argue that this is actually much cooler than people give it credit for. The cheese is on full display here but I say it works. Kilroy Was Here is actually great if you look at it in the correct light. Also under the correct light. Most of them are actually purple vinyl. Standout track (other than the obvious Mr Roboto) is Heavy Metal Poisoning. This silly album is accidentally brilliant. The keyboards on this album are total 80s goofiness. Listen to the track "Cold War" for an example.
