Having read the comments I’ve been listening to this pressing very carefully. First of all side A is flawless. Sure I need to crank it up a bit but that’s OK.
On side B I did notice a very very slight warble during TLOTLDR, but nothing to ruin my day. There are pops at the start of Alexander The Great, which are somewhat annoying I agree. As for those minor issues it’s not a bad pressing at all.

Th US BMG version has the same exact issues as the EU release regarding pitch wobble. Do not buy this album. They did a disservice to the fans by not inspecting it themselves.

Just got a used copy, yesterday. NM condition. Gotta turn up the volume but sounds pretty good to me. Smidge of distortion on Alexander but I can live with that. Fluance RT81 & Schiit Mani 2. Would probably sound crappy without the Schiit... My favorite Dickinson era album. Thrilled to finally have it in my vinyl arsenal!

          DO NOT BUY THIS PRESSING!

Many users have different issues, some say that The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner or Alexander the Great is fucking annoying. Mine are in the last two tracks of each side, a lot of crackings, I must say that on the side two the "noise" is less annoying but, damn! Sea of Madness and Heaven Can Wait have a real "scratch" and is very constant, I wanted to return it, but they told me it was pressing failure. I'm so dissapointed. Anyway I'm avoiding those songs and trying to use this LP not to have paid my money in vain until I can afford another and better version. Well at least "Heaven Can Wait" is not my favourite SIT song. I can cope with it, but I can't imagine an audiophiler buying this version, getting home and finding out such a nasty surprise. Avoid this!

This pressing is decent, the main thing wrong with it is it was mastered too low in volume, the volume needs to be pretty high for normal volume. The warble and wow and flutter people hear is not the mastering at all, but is rather that the centre hole is cut off centre, this is why they hear it on the last track in particular. This is easily fixed by making the hole slightly larger with a file or knife and finding where to align properly. Luckily mine was a very easy fix. As an owner of the original Canadian, Japan and a few other pressings this is not a horrible sounding pressing, but not a great one either.

As confirmed by others, loneliness of the long distance runner is defective on this pressing and suffers from audible tape transfer warble yet it’s not present on the 2014 digital or Apple Music versions. Seems it’s unique to this pressing. More shockingly I have two copies. One purchased in 2018 and another in 2023. Both have the same defect. It seems the error has never been fixed and the re-issue is still being pressed from a dodgy master plate!

Of all the songs to have a defect of course it’s on The Lonliness of the Long Distance Runner. What a shame, it sounds pretty good otherwise. Seems like this pressing should be rated much lower because of the warble.

Maybe I was just lucky but on a first listen, this sounds more than fine to me... It might be a bit flat that I agree, but no distortion and not even a single pop or crack... It definitely was worth it considering that I paid little for it (in mint condition)

Sounds super flat (as in, no dynamics on this pressing), has pitch problems on both sides like other people have said, and distortion on Alexander the Great. Do not buy this pressing!

Lots of complaint here, sounds fine to me. Not mind blowing, but fine. Also didn't notice the pitch issue.
