- Absolutely incredible mix compilation & mixing by Dave Seaman here, that CD2 Just leaves me in ore every time I listen. Amazing times!
- Edited 2 years agoOutstanding collection. I heard the altered yet melodic and slightly twisted Dave seaman mix so many times when high - it blew my mind. The sounds coming out of the tracks Dave put together hit me on so many different levels. I eventually tried BT which was for me a great after party mix, not as dynamic as Daves I felt - but the more I listened the more I got into it, as it’s a mind bending piece of brilliance and great breakbeats make it excellent after a heavy night out. And then the cd by morales was as expected soulful, funky sunny beats which lend themselves to day Time beach moving and dancing. I wasn’t as keen on morales’ tracks initially but over the years they got my heart when in Ibiza daytime I took the mix to get togethers. If I had no other mix other than Dave seaman’s here I wouldn’t be sad, luckily Renaissance have other gems such as the Ian ossia and Nigel Dawson mixes which also are prepared lovingly for twisted house music lovers. A worthy comp overall to add to your collection if you are a house obsessive like me. Enjoy!
- Edited 3 years agoBT mix: my preference is that 2PC is a good DJ Tool intro, after two minutes now is a good time to mix out of it, but after 4 minutes BT is still playing it, after 6 minutes I am getting rather annoyed, still after 8 minutes he has not yet managed to mix out of it?! No wonder BT has not done much on the DJ circuit.
Yes, BT and Sasha are great artists, but Ride is basically just a loop playing over and over and over again....
And leaving the party, BT put on his own 'Godspeed' to play out for 9 minutes - There is something special about this album, which I will come to later, but I was interested in this, because of the two Hybrid tracks featured on it. Here's a review of the three discs
David Morales Mix: This is strictly house. You know, pianos and women singing. It has a uplifting and summer like feeling, but it wasn't anything special to talk about. Easily the weakest mix of the album, though again, I'm not into House music.
Dave Seaman Mix: Dave Seaman is a great DJ, who always picks up the right tracks and mixes it just the rightr way. This mix is another good example of how great he is.
BT Mix: What makes this album so special, is BT's inclusion. surprisingly since he's not a DJ (he even says that he hopes not to confuse anyone, because he's still not a DJ). His mixing however is a bit subpar. It's not terrible, but it sounds a little... amaturish - Edited 4 years agoDave Seaman's is seamless and extraordinary. I still play Drunk as a Monk/Elements routinely. Plenty of other great tracks and mixed extremely well. The BT set is also am amazing set of progressive breaks.
