The first cut 'n' paste instrumental hip-hop record was made by turntablism pioneer Grandmaster Flash. Based around the catchy bassline from Chic's 1979 disco-pop anthem, "Good Times", "Adventures" brilliantly chucked in Queen's very similar "Another One Bites The Dust" bassline and the funky "Apache" break-beat, a staple of hip hop DJ sets of the time. Hugely influential in shaping the art DJing and future dance music styles such as breakbeat, big beat and bastard pop, which were all about combining different types of music with turntablism. A work of genius that still sounds fresh after 40 years. ★★★★★

my favourite record of all time, flash uses "apache" looped twice after the first "good times" sample.
