With mine LP 1 (with sides A & D) is a 18, while LP 2 (with sides B & C) is a 53. Were any issued this way, or is mine a Frankensteined copy?

Even though it is named as such: this is NOT a "Greatest Hits" album.
If it were, then songs such as "Could It Be Magic", "Winter Melody", "Love's Unkind" and "Rumour Has It" would be on it, which is not the case here.
Early hits as "The Hostage" and "Lady Of The Night" (both Top 5 in The Netherlands) are also missing.

This album could be better named "Donna Summer Disco Party 1975-1979".
The tracks on the first three sides are connected to each other to create a continuous sequence, although they are not really beatmixed as a modern DJ would do (that's okay, because this was made 1979).
Side 4 contains the long versions of her then current hits (although there are even longer versions of "On The Radio" around).

Nevertheless, this is an album you can enjoy in one go.

Do any of the CD versions have fade outs on the final song of each cluster(Our Love, Last Dance, Dim All the Lights)?

With so many disco hits in the 70s, Donna Summer was certainly worthy of a compilation by 1979, even after only being on the scene for five years. Love her or hate her, Summer is the undisputed queen of disco.<br />
So what's the problem with <i>On the Radio</i>? The tracks here are short -- really short. The entire thing is blended together like a disco session from back in the day. That might be cool for most, but it's not very useful for DJs and fans who want to hear the original versions. "Love to Love You Baby" is severely truncated from its original eight-minute version and all the orgasmic sighs. And the epic "I Feel Love" is cut down to a mere three minutes. The only full-length, 12-inch "disco" version on this compilation is the title track, which was a breakout hit from the Jodie Foster teen drama "Foxes."<br />
<i>On The Radio</i> is a nice start for beginners. However, disco fans will want to seek out Donna Summer's full-length albums and/or 12-inch singles so they can experience her true, unedited magic.

Donna has to be the Queen of Disco and this compilation proves it. At the time this dropped Ms. Summer was all over the radio in NYC. If you were doing an old skool party today, you could rock this entire LP and I doubt many would complain. Her earlier stuff is also included with the sleaze classic "Love To Love You Baby" from 1975. A must have for any Donna or Disco fan. Moroder is at his best.
