One of the most beautiful record ever released and a masterpiece, unfortunately plagued by a very low-fi mastering and a disastrous vinyl release that sounds flat and digital. Let's hope of a reissue in the future.

I will say, after about 3 separate cycles with my spin clean, the album distortion and crackles went down considerably. That's still pretty ridiculous for a brand new vinyl.

Sold my old copy a while back due to the horrible noise on what is otherwise a masterpiece of a folk record, but quite happy to hear around here that the newer pressings are much better. Might pick up a newer copy in that case.

I think others have said this but I will add my voice - mine appears to be a recent repress, and it sounds perfect. No pops, no sibilance, no distortion - it's so gentle and nice. :)

There are newer pressings of this release that sounds fantastic. I have one and love it. If you can buy directly from asthmatic kitty, do it!

Hadn’t listened to this since I upgraded from a crosley I got in high school 10 years ago, thought maybe I’d wrecked it with the subpar player. Happy to learn it’s the pressing that sounds terrible on my new system, disappointed to learn that this is pretty common for this pressing. Is there a better alternative out there? It’s unlistenable in this state.
