Lots of people consider this album an ultimate masterpiece.
I really dont think so.This is very good album with great musicians but it has it flaws.
First of all these robotic vocals are very annoying and just cant stand it.
Too much jazz fusion rock in every song make it very strange, but not in the good way for me.
Some songs start brilliant but in the middle of the song some part make it just too weird to be in the same song.
Maybe the progressive style of this album goes way too progressive.
Production is great and you can hear all the instruments clearly especially great work in bass and drums compartment.
The opener Veil of Maya is my favorite and the finish of the closer How could I is really astonishing.
I recommend you to listen to Focus because it is really good and strange album in same time, definitelly not for everybody.

What can you say about perfection? Tough call. This is THE, and I would like to stress THE !! progressive Death Metal album. The technical perfection, the mastering of the instruments is only one aspect, what makes this album so brilliant is its "multilayerety", the fact that there is absolutely nothing boring about it even after 16 years! I could hear it every week, and i honestly did so at least 2 years after release, without fatigue. No other album in the genre has ever matched this or even came within sight. Okay, Atheist were close with their last two albums, and Pestilence somehow starved halfway with "Spheres." But, dear readers, THIS is the real thing. Anyone not completely out of their minds just HAS to give this album 5 points. I definitely do and would gladly give more if I could.
