The hype is real. This has immediately become one of the best sounding records I own. If you're trying to decide on which pressing of this masterpiece, go with this one; you won't be disappointed.

I just got lucky and found this sealed for retail price at a local record store. I can only join all the praise for this pressing, what a joy to listen to! Detailed, vibrant and crystal clear, I heard some stuff going on I didn't hear before. In some parts the depth and scope of the soundstage is really breathtaking! The vinyl itself is also the most quiet one straight out of the jacket I've heard in a while. Did someone say that Sigur Rós vinyl pressings generally aren't the best? Well, point them to this pressing. I also compared it to the VMP pressing and while the latter isn't bad, this 2015 pressing sounds way more satisfying to me.

For once the hype sticker isn't a lie, this is propably the best sounding vinyl you could get from a standard retail release. Get this while it's still cheap!

Mine was bought second hand but definitely looks NM, has some minor surface noise in a few spots (mostly side intros) but sounds deep and vibrant overall. Recommended.

One of my favourite albums but this pressing is just awful. I suspect this wasn't remastered for vinyl but just cut straight from the CD master. In any case my copy sounds muddled, clipped and just downright ugly in parts (eg Hjartað Hamast). An excellent demonstration of the limitations of vinyl. I'll stick with playing the CD for this and leave the vinyl copy to show off to friends.

Found a (barely) used NM copy of this pressing at a record store for $30 recently and I knew I needed it…was hoping the audio would be great…and I was NOT disappointed! Beautiful sound- dynamic, quiet vinyl, GORGEOUS! From what I’m reading about the VMP reissue, I’m quite satisfied to have grabbed this instead. If you find a clean one, don’t hesitate to pick it up. I’d almost forgotten how amazing this album is. Never heard it sound better.

Some of the best sounding vinyl in my collection. Sleeves are nice. Jacket is a bit flimsy but looks good and works well enough. Like many others, mine came with a cd of ( ), which is a great bonus instead of just having two of the same album.

Yes yes whoop whoop, what can i say more then that, it's just awesome dead wax silent, big soundstage, very dynamic, can be dead silent with very low surface noice, buy this if you can get your hands on it!

                  Source Wiki:
Ágætis byrjun (Icelandic: [ˈaːucaitɪs ˈpɪrjʏn], A good beginning)[1] is the second studio album by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós, released on 12 June 1999. The album was recorded between the summer of 1998 and the spring of 1999 with producer Ken Thomas. Ágætis byrjun represented a substantial departure from the band's previous album Von, with that album's extended ambient soundscapes replaced by Jónsi Birgisson's now signature cello-bowed guitarwork and lush orchestration, using a double string octet amongst other chamber elements.

Ágætis byrjun became Sigur Rós's breakthrough album, both commercially and critically. It received a 2000 release in the United Kingdom and a 2001 release in the United States. According to their label Smekkleysa, the album sold 10,000 copies on its first year of release in Iceland, earning the band platinum status.[2] It won numerous awards, and has appeared on multiple critics' lists of the best albums of the 2000s.

Ágætis byrjun is the band's first album to feature keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson, and their last to feature drummer Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson, who left the band several months after the album was released. Gunnarsson was replaced by Orri Páll Dýrason in the same year.

I've been listening to this record since it's release. This press is absolutely fantastic. Flat, heavy vinyl. Very little surface noise. Amazing low end and clear highs. even gave me back my long lost copy of the cd. No reason to buy another version. Get this one while you still can.

Ultra flat and ultra quiet vinyl. Dimensional and wide soundstage. The recording is linear and well balanced. Moderate bottom end, punchy mids and clean, crisp highs. Vocals are very natural and out front. One of the best sounding records I own, and the content is fantastic. Highly recommended.
