Reviews
- Jun Fukamachi on Keyboards, Toshiyuki Honda and Jake H. Concepcion on Saxophone, Mike Dunn on Vocals and of course Akira Wada on Guitar. My first thoughts reading the line-up, WOW!
Akira Wada. Guitarist born in Tokyo 50s. Starting off in the fusion legend Prism and collaborating often with summer jazz master Naoya Matsuoka and working on almost 100 fusin albums. Cementing his fame with picking up a solo career in the 80s.
In 1984, locking up in Hummingbird studio with all the mentioned big names. Creating a serios of 3 albums which mood is beyond legendary. Unfortunately the third one titled "American Romance no 2" was never released.
"American Romance" is the perfect Yach Fusion album there is. Strong guitar sections, anywhere you put the stylus. Great vocals. Catchy melodies. And a great artwork which paints clearly all the atmoshphere of the album.
