Reviews
- Edited 3 years agoSimilar to their first album with a traditional bass drums and guitar sound leading. This is the transition from that first quite primal album to ‘spleen…’ but more polished sounding than the first album with sound effects and heavier on the reverb. Some Joy Division influences on this. The two vocal tunes A2 and B1 are masterclasses in jangling guitar downbeat majesty. Both set up an otherworldly atmosphere of resigned and mournful beauty. Essential.
- I bought this record back in the eighties and was sadly disappointed since it is mispressing: The A-Side is on both sides of the record ;-) Since this is the only mispressing in this way I own in my 5000 plus vinyl collection (there is only a Strictly Rhythm Compilation with three records and double A/B instead of C/D in it), it is now probably a rare treat. Is there anyone having the same mispressing?
- A beautiful EP that points to the future path of this outstanding project that has created so many different beautiful recordings that won't fit into a label like world music etc.
