A significant anniversary and an essential compilation mapping the singer’s entire career!

The 3 CDs within the prestigious Golden Collection present the most comprehensive picture to date of the brilliant Petra Janů, from the rock beginnings through a plethora of hits of both Czech and foreign provenience to musicals, always perfectly bringing to bear her exquisite voice and tasteful dramatic delivery.

Similar compilations, released to mark artists’ significant anniversaries, are expected to present a mixture of the most successful and most interesting, and to highlight their singularity. And this one can be deemed successful in this respect. The 3-CD set represents a certain culmination of the previous song compilations, comprising the greatest hits, “big-beat” from the period of Petra’s collaboration with Ota Petřina and Petr Janda, duets with superlative partners (V. Špinarová, H. Zagorová, J. Korn, J. Hanzlík, K. Gott, M. David and E. Pilarová), themes of world-famous musicals and approximately twenty tracks previously unreleased or unheard on CD. It’s all there: Moje malá premiéra and Kaleidoskop, To máme mládež and Beatová Liduška, Jedeme dál and Scarborough Fair, Už nejsem volná and Říkej mi. A total of 60 songs.

Petra Janů is an artist who has not covered the tabloid front pages. Her success begins with music, diligence and professionalism, and ends with admiration on the part of her colleagues and hordes of fans. This compilation affords the opportunity for the listener to see again that she is a brilliant singer gifted with an exceptional talent, which is documented by wonderful songs expressing different moods, all of them characterised by high quality.

This is a chronological compilation, but with mixed styles and the first years until 1982 are almost completely missing. From a Rock point of view it cannot be recommended.
