Audiophile quality record. (And cheap to get)
A must have to show people what your system can do.
The intro song is mind blowing when those people enter the cave. (Nagaoka MP-500 used for playback)

I accidentally stumbled upon a full album rip on Youtube, and i fell for it immediately. I had a strong sense of familiarity to it, and when i started checking out Vollenweiders work it became apparent how i often heard his music when i was a small boy, because it received quite a bit of airplay here in Holland. The album itself is credited here as ambient, but that actually does the album short. Andreas Vollenweider surely has the quality to deliver a lovely and sweet sounding album without making it sound too cheesy, but it has more of a world music vibe to it than just ambient. A little steeldrum here, a bit of sitar there, some flute and some bongo drums. And of course Andreas' harp playing is very beautiful. Lunar Pond is a good example of that. It's a song in which he creates a classical Japanese sound with some stringed instrument, sounding like an esraj. The last two tunes of side A play as one song, and with its Indian vibe and beautiful female voice singing and electric guitar solo to finish it of, it definitely invites for a dance, given the right circumstances. Side B starts similarly uplifting with a song that picks up in tempo halfway. Perfect! Hearing this makes it obvious why it received airplay; it has pop-appeal. There is variety on the album, but it evolves around a certain theme. There is peace to be found, comfort, energy, discomfort (halfway side B), and reassurance. And it doesn't cost you a lot to get a copy either. I checked all his albums from the eighties, and although some have a few good songs, overall this album could be his best.
