Notes

Limited to 5,000 copies.

Unlike the original 2007 issue, this edition is packaged in a single glossy outer sleeve with a reproduction of the sticker that sealed the first pressing printed directly onto the cover. The orange and yellow inner sleeves with lyrics are very similar to the originals.

As this is pressed from the 2008 DMM masters, tracks A1 and B2 appear in their single edits, not the original album versions from the 2007 vinyl and CD issues.

Includes a download card that allows you to download the 11-track edition of the album, which includes the bonus track "I See Who You Are (Mark Bell Mix)".

Anyone got a defective copy? As in the hole wasn't punched right in the center, so the record got stuck while spinning. My red LP is like this and I can't get it to play. Frustrating.

Well I for one appreciate her ability to push herself. It doesn't always have to work, when experimenting that's part of the result sometimes. There's next time to try and get it right if wanted. With that said this is a really good album. The influence of 1970's as in the minimalist track "Pneumonia" and the Malian grooves in "Hope" are 2 quick standouts. And that's my take as I'm actually listening to the album (Side D) as I type my opinion. I suspect I will like the album even more after a couple of more listens because the tracks vary in sound and style. But that's Bjork for you or at least for me it is..

This sounds way better than all of the other represses but it spins very oddly I don't think the hole is like directly in the middle because it looks like it could slip off at any minute but jamz super glad I got this

I love this one!almost didnt buy it since its not my favorite bjork album but felt i needed to fill the hole in my bjork collection since i own all her other albums on vinyl&im very happy i did.
This release sounds GREAT no strange surface noise and the vinyl is beautiful!
I also love the order of the tracks(ending with my juvenile).
I do wish other photos from this album were included inside&thicker sleeve&inner sleeve but im overall pleased!

Record 1 (red) is very noisy with lots of pops and the label is clean without any information. Record 2 (green) is ok.

It's a pleasant surprise that this coloured vinyl edition cleans up a couple of things that bothered me about Volta back in '07. Firstly, the original packaging - while impressive - was somewhat impractical, with five stacking LP covers inside a box that opened out in four directions, not to mention the fact the main feature of the artwork was a massive sticker that had to be removed or destroyed to get to the records. This edition is a lot tidier, with a modest printed sleeve that holds the records a lot more conveniently.

Secondly, three of the songs have been edited down to their single mixes, as on the 2008 DMM vinyl from whose masters this is pressed. Chiefly, Wanderlust and Earth Intruders have lost the atonal brass interlude that separates them, while Innocence no longer segues into five seconds of I See Who You Are before fading out, but ends tidily in its own right as side B finishes.

One gripe is that the artwork is now completely missing the 'fire' photos of Bjork that adorned the backs of the original LP covers, even though there would have been ample space for at least one - but the other bits of housekeeping make me want to listen to this a lot more than I ever did before.
