Notes
This is VERSION #3.
Although there was just one pressing of this EP, there are 4 different cover variations. No version is considered primary or is known to be released before the others. They are in random order and are as follows:
Version #1: Front artwork is "zoomed out" and shows all the original artwork including a black "splotch" at the top of the sleeve (absent from the other versions). Rear artwork has a sketched image of a soldier with a gas mask and a smoking gun. The Band and Track information runs down the right side of the rear cover. No other info is given inside the sleeve. This version has corrected spelling on song titles and shortened the last song on side B to America.
Version #2: Front artwork is "zoomed in" slightly (no black splotch at top of the sleeve). Has a photo on the back of the cover from a live show and contains additional notes and thank you info inside the sleeve. This version has corrected spelling on song titles and shortened the last song on side B to America.
Version #3: Front artwork is same as Version #2. Rear artwork has multiple photos by Ed Colver. It has the full song title for America, "America Home Of The Free And The Brave". Sleeve is over sized in the back sticking up a 1/4" more than the front.
Version #4: Front artwork is "zoomed out" and shows all the original artwork including a black "splotch" at the top of the sleeve (consistent with Version #1) with the addition of the ep title Annihilation on the front single sheeted sleeve. On the separate back fold over sleeve there is a photo from a live show and contains additional notes and thank you info on the back side of the fold over. This version has corrected spelling on sing titles and shortened the last song on side B to America. Recorded in Los Angeles, June 1981 as stated on back of sleeve though Version#2 show it was removed and replaced by Costa Mesa.
Recorded in Costa Mesa, June 1981.
