Notes
Professionally duplicated, limited 2XCDr edition from echospace's variant project, packaged in an over-sized DVD case and housed with a 10" X 10" poster of photography captured during the 5th largest blizzard in Chicago/Detroit history, autographed by the artist. Only the first 100 copies will include the poster and autograph. (From Bandcamp)
Back of cover: Field recordings and found sounds and field recordings captured during the blizzard known as “Linus”, the 5th worst blizzard in Chicago and Detroit’s history. The magic of the polar vortex and the arctic conditions it left behind were greatly significant during the creation of “Auratia” and the mystical sonic world captured during recording.
"Auratia" is made entirely with hardware, Vintage analog equipment in conjunction with innovative customized modular synthesizers winnow a basis for algorithmic structure improvisation. This sound experiment re-synthesizes from a current plane into altered planes of effects for a radically new experience that breaks down barriers. Ghostly harmonics fold and unfold like symmetrical patterns in nature to generate a myriad of complex and infinite rhythmic lines blurring the here and now. Tessellations into higher dimensions, this mosaic of melody delivers eccentricity at its finest.

Reviews
- the last 30 minutes of this release is just absolute bliss -- not taking anything away from the rest of it as its all quality.
- Another superb double album from Variant! This guys workload over the past few months has been nothing but spectacular.
Here he has created another epic album of ever changing, undulating & ever unfolding electronic soundscapes of massive proportions. I'm not really a fan of tracks that go on for over half an hour but this is different! It's like multiple tracks within the two tracks that change and morph & melt into one another...like chapters of a book!
Deeply experimental & dark in points and very cerebral..well I think so! For people who like their electronic music, deep, dark and very hypnotic!
I rate this album 5/5 because it merits it! Absolutely superb as usual.
