A beautiful album and highly underrated. I can only listen to it by myself and, for some strange reason, only when I'm driving. It just doesn't 'fit' in the living room. Long stretches of road ahead, at least a one hour drive - with this one on, you just won't exceed the speed limit. "New Skin For The Old Ceremony" relaxes the senses and demands serious attention. Personal favorites are "Take This Longing", "I Tried To Leave You" and the number 1 cut for me is "Who By Fire". Absolutely killer, especially with that girl-like second voice singing along with Cohen. For those who like "Who By Fire": a truly stunning remake of the song was made by Coil in 1986 for their album Coil - Horse Rotorvator. Their rendition is haunting, slightly disturbing in a way, but ever so stunningly moving. If you haven't really checked out Leonard Cohen yet, then I recommend that you start with "New Skin For The Old Ceremony".
