- Edited one year agoA side is a remix of the track "Fox Hunt" by Fred Giannelli that was previously released on the Telepathic Recordings 005 under his alias Mazdaratti. The original wasn't bad at all but the remix here by Cari Lekebusch is what I consider to be an improvement. The writting is more mature, the set of sci-fi sounds from the original has been put to better use + there are additional synth pads that greatly enhance the trip. It's less dancefloor-friendly and more cinematic and seems to make more sense as is, as if it reached its definitive form.
But while I did get this 12" for the A side back then, I ended liking the B side about as much, which is the continuation of Fred Giannelli's "Premonitions" that were released on the Telepathic Recordings 016 under his alias Deneuve. Interestingly enough, the B side does the opposite of the A side as it's less dreamy (less cinematic) and more upbeat (more dancefloor-friendly) than the previous Premonitions, but it keeps the same beautiful melody and is still quite a fitting track to chill to. - "Swedish Peace - Swedish Foxes (Fox Hunt)" is really a stand out track by Cari as "dryfist" already stated. And Cari released a lot of tracks as we know.
- Cari Lekebusch gives us his most insane, wonderful, powerful, sci fi techno masterpiece on this 12". 17 years after release, I still think this is the single best track of Lekebusch's career. It's a more fluid and refined take on his earlier Drum Code releases (especially Rahangel Me) seemingly perfectly suited to being the soundtrack to an outer space battle between warring races hellbent on destroying each other. It's mean... and it's beautiful. Don't even bother with side b.
