Reviews
- Edited 2 years agoa repress would be super nice. so that this one is available to the ones on a "normal" budget
- Come on Umor Rex, repress this please! Especially now some cretin is trying to sell it for about $500.
- seeing that driftmachine's nocturnes got a repress last year while still being not selling at very high prices here i guess there's hope for this gem getting reissued !
daniel please if you're reading this :) - I'm not sure what's with all the negative reviews on this one. A stunning album from front to back, blending glitched-out ambient electronica with shades of Terry Riley and some traditional Asian influence that sounds incredibly fresh in a modern context. I slept on the initial release and this became one of my "holy grail" records not long after, and I was lucky enough to snag a gently-used copy at Amoeba for under $20. Kara-Lis Coverdale & LXV are making some of the best and most progressive electronic music around these days.
- Edited 7 years agoA pleasant enough album, but one which despite the repeated listens simply hasn't grown on me. The problem is I guess, that it is merely pleasant. Technically this is a very accomplished album indeed, a wide-screen cinematic otherworldly ambient affair, very dynamic and perfectly crafted. However, I found that beyond this technical trickery the musicality of the tracks were somewhat flat for my tastes. No real substance there to grab you. However, don't let these words dissuade you from giving this a go, as there is certainly much to be admire and enjoyed from this album. If your into this new breed of wide-screen, 3-D, fourth-world hyper-real dynamic ambient music, then give it a go. Would be keen to hear what others make of this album.
