- Fantastic mix! What is the version of "That Elvis Track"? Sounds completely different from the original apart from the vocal samples. Loving the mixed guitar and trip hop beat, I actually like this version more than the original
- This compilation is one hell of a banger! If you love the mid to late 90s Big Beat sound, this one is a must have! I can't think of one weak track! And it's a nice mix of anthems and deep cuts. The perfect compilation to play at full volume.
- Edited one year agoThe beginning of the peak of a style that will remain until 2000-2001.
This first release of the "Big Beat Elite" series features classics of the genre such as "Everybody Needs A 303", "Naked And Ashamed" and "Hip Hop Bibbedy Bop Bop".
The "There is Hope" version of "Keep Hope Alive" is not that much different of the original, though there's a bit more trippy sounds that makes this choon more epic and beautiful. It's not on much releases either.
This comp also offers some lesser known gems including the disturbing "It's Murder Out There", the 303 galore "Donuts With Buddah", "Weird Planet" and the progressive "Wake Up", making it diversified enough to be able to pick one track whatever mood you're in for the day.
Moreover, the third CD is admirably mixed, as it's the case in the other "Big Beat Elite" installments.
Personally not my favorite big beat comp, but if you just heard of this style, then this one is quite relevant to begin with.
