    Yes the photo on the cover has undergone a certain amount of ‘doctoring’ to make the pillar shorter than it originally had been; thus bringing the boy and soldier closer together.
    But that’s all. The rest is the original photo taken by Milton Haworth for the Daily Express.
    I know this little fact from reading Roland Link’s SLF biography Kicking Up a Racket.
    Highly recommended reading for SLF fans!

      Some people may not notice, but the picture on the front of the boy and the soldier is a composite, look for the crude lines emanating from the top of the post.
