This work is a prolongation of the goodness and happiness of The Alegre All Stars records. Furthermore, Charlie shows us the fabulous harmony possibilities of the latin music, sometimes tilting to jazz (Either you have it or you don't, Sandstorm), or remaking some latin genres like bolero (duerme, no puedo vivir), pachanga (El yoyo), guaguancó (guaguancó en Borinquen), or just playing the 60's popular rhythm, the boogaloo.
In a very creative time for latin music in NY (In which Charlie Palmieri had a title role), this album, and also the next, the 1968's latin bugalu, by atlantic, incarnate the maturity of this artist, who never submit the harmony to the rhythm, a thing very strange, i'm sorry, in Fania records.
I just regret we don't know who more else were the musicians, excepting Victor Velázquez, the best singer of the Palmieri's bands, Frankie Malabé and Mario Rivera, of Alegre All Stars too.
