Reviews
- Edited one year agoNot going to comment on ‘Killer’ as everything that can be said, has been said. However, if you are interested in the B side tracks based on the shorter versions on the Liveandirect album, you are likely going to be disappointed as they are pretty poor in comparison. This is especially so for ‘I Dream Of You’ which is IMO one of the best tracks on that album, but is ruined here with unnecessary and irritating vocals
- Originally an instrumental track called ‘The Killer’, this is the story behind the track; https://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/mar/11/how-we-made-killer
- My promo USA copy MCA 24049 says it's on Liveanddirect LP. I have the album and it's not. Discogs shows it's on Doctor Adamski's Musical Pharmacy.
- I wonder if the main synth riff sound on 'Bass Line Changed My Life' was sampled and reinterpreted on Holy Noise's underground hit Get Down Everybody? Or is just a preset synth sound, which Holy Noise happened to play in a similar fashion as Adamski's release. They're very similar regardless.
- Fun fact. In 1996 Adamski released an obscure 7" under the alias Ping Pong, the b side track 'Adorable' applied a new female vocal over the classic 'Killer' track, creating a sort of kooky, satirical dig at female objectification and it's very existence demonstrates just how anomalous the music we think we know can be.
