In addition to all the well chosen and utilised samples already mentioned. Rare Plastic samples (the uh-uh vocal) likely from Aqua Regia's untitled track on the Electric Family Mariopaint Irdial 12".

This record is so much more than the sum of its parts though - amazing release!

What's the sample in the middle of Type Damascus from (starts at ~2:30)? Sounds like the broadcast of a heated sports match or historical moment. The closer I try to listen, the more it escapes my grasp.

Type Damascus contains a superb sampling of Herbie Hancock's 'Nobu'... Gorgeous re-use of the Arp-2600 sound

a modern classic. glad to own it, never get bored of it. i kind of have the feeling that after this release many people started to produce more breakbeat'ish, using Amen break and so on. a lot of crap out there. this is not. acting press is one of the labels where you can buy their releases blind imo. quality is garanty. agree with markosumas also about the variety of styles included on one disc.
heard people say, its a rip off, since its obviously using tons of samples. as experienced on the MPC, i still say: using samples is a form of art. and how PLO made it on this release, its without a doubt, the purest form of art.

Type Damascus is making me feel a certain type of way... One of the best tunes I've heard. Tons of nostalgia, regret, and emotion poured over this trancey, spacey, exploratory track. Not to mention the breakbeats kick in to give that perfect "wow" moment on the dancefloor//
