- Three nights is the perfect epitome of bottled up emotions, let out in an ugly sound. So ugly it’s beautiful. God that feedback and distortion at the beginning, gives me chills, takes me to another planet, the soloing, bill Stevensons drums, Henry screaming. Probably the most intense song ever recorded it makes me wanna cry. The chair creaking. Stick Me! Stick me! This whole album is great. Id say this and “Everything went black” are BF best records.
- After listening to this pressing, I realized that the CD of this sounds sounds especially bad. I got rid of it a long time ago, so I don't know what the year was, but I bought it some time in the late 90s, and eventually unloaded it because it was not a joy to listen to. I figured that's just how the recording sounded, but nope.
- The LP is available for pre-order on the SST store, anyone know when it's supposed to drop? Or any other info would be very helpful. Cheers!
- Edited 2 years agoI'm not a huge audiophile type, but quite honestly my '85 cassette reissue sounds better than the newest repress. lots of little quiet spoken bits / studio sounds on this record that you can't really hear at all on the newest vinyl issue
- does anyone have a copy of the lyric sheet insert for this? which was available only from SST
looking for a high res digital scan or physical photocopy/print
and the same for the first LP also
thanks - Edited 8 years agoThis lp sets the sludge roots. One of the first efforts approaching American Hc and Black Sabbath sounds, evolving into the same lp to different, psychotic and original rhythms.
- Edited 9 years agoPeople either love or hate this record, probably because it sounds so harsh, dark, and serious. I like to think of My War as the painful sound of punk trying to evolve into something more. This album probably had just as big an influence on Hardcore, just without the notoriety of "Damaged". Each track of this album slowly devolves into despair and anger. By the time you reach "Scream", you have a song which itself sounds like it was recorded through one mic in the middle of a room, as to say the recording process itself has broken down as well. In my opinion; a brilliant, misunderstood, and powerful album.
