Beautiful release! I don't want to pay 40-50 quid still. I would love a repress pretty please!

Despite to the comment made earlier, I think the A side "Mimoun Marhaba" is a simple perfect evidence how modern classical can fit into minimal and this gives the sense of not so thought techno but simply is it. Techno without a beat but heavy repetative and loopy! think, how good to mix with it!

Eh, and the AA-side is just that good as it is, a true killer, melting the arab/oriental thema into a holden like trance . Nobody can do this like him, or to be specific, in the same "erhabenen" style like him.

hello discogs community ...I like this ep so much that I am very desappointed. my vinyl come with some defects ... especially the A side, with a big part of background noise (just before the singing). I know life has surface noise but I don't understand the interest to make a vinyl for finally a small result ...these tracks deserve better . Too Bad!!!
have you the same copy or I am a unlucky DJ???

Yep unfortunately i have the exact same problem i bought another copy hoping it would be an isolated issue but was just the same with unwanted noise throughout the first minute or two before the singing comes in. I've emailed eglo direct so hope for some clarification back from them soon

The AA side is one of the most extraordinary things I have ever heard, it's proper 'trance' music. Holden just slides in some searing modular tones around the natural peaks, and cranks it all up a couple more notches, amazing stuff!
The A side doesn't work quite as well, IMO. It begins with with just the 'floaty' loop that concludes FP's 'Montparnasse', and I don't know if the Moroccan musicians deserve to be 'slaved' against a looped 'master'. It comes across as odd and not entirely convincing, and for me, the track never really goes anywhere as a consequence, even after that loop is replaced by others. It seems a shame to go all the way to the Atlas Mountains and not let the objects of your pilgrimage lead the way... Sorry, I really like FP's other work, but this one didn't do it for me.
The photo-essay booklet is a very nice touch, and provides some illuminating context.
