Reviews
- Edited 9 years agoAn essential Bunny Lee compilation featuring some of the best musicians and artists in a timeless age of Jamaican music. This compilation comprises rare sides, one-off dubplate mixes transfered from the original 10" acetates, and unreleased cuts takes from the unmixed 4-track tapes. The multi-track tapes were transfered and digitally mixed down in as neutral a way as possible, simply by balancing the levels of the tracks to match existing masters, and by applying EQ to restore frequencies lost from magnetic tape. No reverb or delay was added. Where echo can be heard, this had been printed in tape during original recording, usually on the vocal track. the intention is to present the recording as close as possible to what the musicians would of heard when the tracks were finished.
- Edited 9 years agoLike many previous Pressure Sounds LP editions, this is also available in a very limited edition with hand silk-screened packaging that is expensive but very beautiful. Why Discogs makes no mention of these highly collectible editions is a mystery. These can be purchased (during the window of availability) from the Pressure Sounds site; they also include the standard litho sleeve so the liner notes (that are obviously not on the screened versions) can be read.
