    My etchings are:

    PAL 38112-1D SIDE 1
    PBL 38112 1A SIDE 2

    Not exactly as listed here.

    (Variant 20 side A runout): PAL 38112-1D B24 1G
    (Variant 20 side B runout): PBL 38112-1A I4 G2

Does it mean it's a different pressing?

It also has two kinda badly drawn "e" and "g" on the etchings as well.

It really is super quiet. Probably the one to own, no snobbery. Complete bass/treble control. Magical.

My side a has the Pitman p with pal 38112-2c and side b matches the carrolton with pbl 38112-2g but has D4 and G1 also etched….anyone else see this???

My copy is a near Hot Stamper! Absolutely destroys the Pitman I A/B’d it against! YMMV

Superb sounding record, crystal clear and beautifully mastered. Quality and durable vinyl. Sounds exactly as you would expect if you were around when it came out and heard it being played on the radio.

Just completed a 3 way comparo between this original 1982 pressing (no MJ co producer credit), a 2019 US pressing, and a 1982 Japanese reissue. The original US 1982 is my favorite, followed by an excellent and super close Japanese reissue 1982. Both of these 1982's offer super sound quality and would satisfy everybody. Especially on Beat It and Billie Jean, you can notice that the 2019 is more set back, less details, less energy. Comparatively the 2019 reissue sounds a little withdrawn, lacking detail and less spacious and doesn't jump out at you the way the 1982's did. The original 1982 US gets my vote for having a little bit more presence, upper end delicacy and detail that are slightly missing in the Japanese press. Japanese press gives off a tiny bit more bass energy, but not enough to compensate for the superior US 1982. There are no 'bad' pressings here, just splitting hairs for one of the all time greatest albums on the planet!!

My copy sounds way too fast and high-pitched. Anyone else?

I also don't have MJ listed, but etchings are PAL 38112-2G/PBL 38112-2G. Just a variant?
