Trap music with a sprinkle of boom-bap best describes this Duck Down release. Bodega shines with his storytelling on several of the LP's tracks ("Cocaine Dreaming" about the follies of being in possession of the "rich man's drug" , "Raw Deal" with a Biggie-"Warning"-esque narrative revolving where Bamz shoots his homie and ends up walking off munching on a steak & cheese ), "El Rey" made for a catchy single, and the guests were sparse but effective like No Panty brother in crime Ortiz on "Gods Honest" or the Flatbush Zombies on "Bring em Out". Still Bamz falters with his limited syntax which could use some brushing up so he doesn't rhyme a word with one he said before several times on the same track. That type of rhyme pattern can turn off a hip-hop purist, but still "Sidewalk Exec" is a great soundtrack if your on the sidewalk or getting by on a bus.
