Original master recording, remastered edition of the 1969 album.
Mobile Fidelity's first Beatles release.

Yellow banner at the top cover "Original Master Recording"
White Mo-Fi label has the Capitol C logo.

Early pressings came with a posterboard fold-out insert protecting the LP. On one side is a description of Mo-Fi's background called "An Audiophile's Dream Come True!" and the other side "Superdiscs Supertapes Superstars Super Quality"

Later inserts had a photo of historical-looking figures holding up Mo-Fi LPs stating "Limited Editions From the Original Masters"

Some later copies have a posterboard 4 page b&w foldout insert: front cover reads "Original Master Recordings" at top with an image of a man's back looking at the cover of the Beatles' White Album Original Master Recording. Page 2 has "What Is An Original Master Recording?". Page 3 has a catalog of LPs and cassettes. Back cover has UHQR and Geo-Disc information.

The LP itself is translucent (hold it up to a bright light and you can see through it) and it comes in a paper-line rice paper sleeve.

Pressed in Japan.
Recorded in England.

Very enjoyable pressing. Bass can be a bit bloated on some songs (mainly Come Together and Sun King) but I think the bass adds an added touch to all the other songs.

Excellent. Though I'm not a huge The Beatles fan, I like this record a lot - highly enjoyable pressing.

Relative to my other records I always feel that I have to crank up the volume on this particular pressing. Is it normal on this MFSL or do I have some sort of dud? I also notice the record isn't 180g or exceptionally heavy, again not sure if this was just the norm for MFSL back then.

Sounds a bit warmer than my Apple 2nd press. Also, a littler less harsh in some of the heavier rock portions. More dynamic as far as channel range, but there's also a polish that makes it seems less "Beatles" to me. For instance, Paul's scream "oh yeah alright" at the beginning of, well, "The End" doesn't seem as throaty.

Picked this up a few years back at my local record store for 30 bucks! The record is flawless but the cover is a little worn. Either way it was a steal and it sounds absolutely beautiful. Sure should suggest people to pick this copy if they see it.

I have a VG+ UK first issue and this one. I can safely say with confidence that this destroys the original issue. When listening to this version, it becomes very apparent that the UK issue uses a lot of limiting, this version sounds much more natural. It's also much more detailed. A great purchase for the collection.

Hi, how can this item be marked as REMASTERED when it is ORIGINAL MASTER recording???

some say this MFSL pressing is heavy on the bass but I don't hear that and I love it's sound quality.

"Produced For" is to be used as an indication of the entity for whom it was produced, not the condition of distribution. Also, in the notes would be better if "Stamped DEMONSTRATION COPY NOT FOR RESALE" was used instead of "this is a" . Does the label also indicate this is anything other than a market redirected copy of the commercial run?
