English elctronica composer Ott did release this album on vinyl for the first time last year. It was a kickstarter to fund it, which went quite well. Well, Ott is indian inspired, downtempo beats. He is known for his collaboration with Sphongle(Simon Posford), and The Orb. He mixed and album from psytrance artist Hallucinogen, resulting in the album “Hallucinogen – In Dub” which was quite another take on the project. I discovered him a few years ago via that very album. It turned out, he has realeased a few other albums under pseudonymes, but three as himself. “Fairchildren” was the first to be released on vinyl, and naturally I grabbed it when it was announced.
If you’re a fan of Sphongle, Entheogenic, Bluetech and similar artists, you will want to know this artist. This is his most experimental(or progressive if you wish) album, which deals in breakdowns, tempo changes and strange noises. But the dub is always there, so blast off your speakers!

This is a very good album, production is top and creativity is outstanding. Some tracks are typical Ott style with relaxed, positive and happy dub rythms. Others are more glitchy and expirimental and leave the usual Ott realm from time to time, but the change is subtle and not too extreme. Change but not too much change.Te only thing I do not fully like, a with other Ott albums, is the use of vocals that are sometimes cheesy. I would have prefered a normal singer, not in this indian hysteric style. However, thats just my humble view on the vocals, better he disregards them next time.

Ott surprised me with this release! Overall I think this is the best album of Ott so far. There are no real highlights like Rogue Bagel, Splitting an Atom etc, but the total album is great! Certainly when you realize that most of the tracks were made with external equipment!
