Notes
Philip Charles Lithman AKA Snakefinger was a posthumous collection released by The Residents' fan club organization, Uncle Willie's Eyeball Buddies, or UWEB. It features unreleased tracks spanning Snakefinger's career from 1971 to 1987. The first, second, and last tracks are live performances of songs which were intended to be recorded on the next album ("We hope," Snakey quips to the audience). "Death Collage" is a track assembled by The Residents in tribute to their departed friend. To round out the compilation, some obscure b-sides are included as well as unreleased demos from the mid-1970's.
From release notes:
Track 1: recorded June 1987. Live at Berkeley Square, Berkeley, CA,
Track 2: recorded June 1987. Live at the DNA, San Francisco, CA,
Track 3: recorded September 1986. Out take from 'Night Of Desirable Objects',
Track 4: with The Residents, live at the Paradiso, Amsterdam,
Track 5: 1983, recorded live on The History Of The Blues tour. Not on the album,
Track 6: 1982, studio recording,
Track 7: recorded live in Melbourne, Australia, March 5, 1981,
Track 8: The Residents have created this studio event by smashing together bits of songs they wrote with Snakefinger,
Track 9: in April of 1978, he recorded the demo, playing all of the instruments himself to try to establish presence in the San Francisco music market,
Track 10: this demo was done for RCA in January of 1977. Band unknown,
