- The original that I have was pressed at United.
They did a terrible job.
This album is a classic. It will be around a long time. Hopefully one day Analog Productions will make a copy. 
Mine is great except for one thing. There is a skip on ‘Different Days’ at the end on side one.- Mine sounds absolutely great! Ever since I’ve heard this album, it has become my all-time favorite, without a doubt! Every song is amazing. I picked up the 10th anniversary box set also. I just love this album…what can I say.
I got variant 7 and no distortion at all. Sounds great!
I have version just stamped on Side A 129049E1/K Label on back of cover Manufactured in Czech Republic
I just picked up variant 4 and it sounds pretty good. No distortion throughout.- No distortion on this one. Sounds awesome, great production. /
This must the a second repress that is also fixed? because this has no distortions what so ever..- Does anyone have information if this is one of the represses done by Welcome to 1979 that fixed some of the problems with the original press?
