Nice release of post-rock/experimental music. Some emphasis on dissonance and consonance, slow volume shifts and some well executed tempo changes, hard to pull off by an analog band.
Contains 4 sides, all relating together in a concept. Includes a graphical map of the music in the gatefold, complete with timestamps and descriptions. Clever artwork throughout.
Nice pressing. No detectable errors. Super quiet vinyl, nice heavyweight inner sleeves with glossy lining.
Enjoyable record. 3.5 stars.

I remember a time when discogs reviews would be about the music
Now, we get lots of hipsters discussing whether there's a crackle on the record that they play to feel cool, but really want to sound like a CD?

Seeing as that 15.3K people have this, I think someone really needs to take proper photos of everything and replace the old ones. I don't really have the means too but I bet someone does.
One of the vinyls of my copy was badly warped and there's in general a lot of crackles. The sound is great though, and it's a fantastic album.

This record might be the single greatest achievement of the entire post-rock genre. It's just perfect. I've never known a double album to flow so effortlessly. Every part is a joy and you should probably buy it and listen to it because it is nice and stuff.

For some reason my copy is absolutely fine but side 4 is slightly too fast. Is anyone else having this problem?

Re-review 2 years later: Listening to this album in several setup variations, I can say for sure the mastering sounds just right. Not a shower, but the details are still there. If anything, it's just as "muddy" as the digital version. Crackles is still sorta present in my copy, haven't wet-cleaned my copy yet to see if they vanish.

Just listening to this on my ATLP120/AT95E/Pro-ject MaiA/Sony MDR 7506-combo, and holy dang this record sounds great!
For those curious about the vinyl vs. CD differences, this forum post gives a pretty good rundown: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.256835-Small-Waves-reviews-Godspeed-You-Black-Emperor-F-A-infinity-Vinyl-vs-CD
