Excellent sounding LP, with a beautifully detailed & wide stereo soundstage. Bass is strong right from the intro & clarity is terrific and uncongested. No offence, but if the bass on this record isn't slammin' you need a better stereo, just sayin'. Vinyl itself is whisper-quiet on my copy.
This is a fantastic press all around. Excellent sound and a sturdy, beautiful embossed sleeve with sold printed inner sleeve. Recommended and still affordable.

Edited 2 years agoAbsolute brilliance by Mr. Marley & Co. Many of his best songs are on here, and performances are top-notch.
The mix is stunningly beautiful. Cleanly tracked instruments, complex layering, and wide panned percussion/kit make for an engaging soundstage. Of the 1,500 albums in my collection, there are few mixes worthy of this distinction.
This pressing sounds beautiful. Really an enjoyable listen. No weak bass on track 1, on the contrary, it is big and thumping. The record even came with an Exodus T-shirt. Score!

Edited 3 years agoMy copy does not have "MASTERED BY CAPITOL" in the runouts, rest is the same. And my copy has the side A label on both sides.... Could it be that there was a repress around 2020?
Really great pressing, haven’t heard original vinyl to compare but the bass is noticeably flat in some songs from other versions I’ve heard from MP3. I’ll be hoping for a version confirmed as from original tapes because it’s such a powerful album
Good pressing with nice range but that gut-punching bass of Natural Mysical is not there. A link posted in a review bellow says the same.
Edited 5 years agoThis sounds really good, don't have an original to compare it to. However, I do have some defects out of the package on the vinyl itself. Side 1 has a small divet on the first track that plays through about the first 30 seconds of music and then on side 2 there are a few scratches that are picked up as well by the needle as it tracks over them. I'm going try to exchange it for another copy, hopefully that one does not have the same issue.

- Edited 6 years agoMy version, bought new and sealed in November 2018, does not have the "Back to Black" hype sticker nor the MP3 download card, but is otherwise identical.
