The tropical hints of bandoneon and Spanish guitar of "Montanita" kick off Ratatat's CLASSICS in strong form, quickly followed by the electric guitar electro haze of "Lex." And even though the panther call on "Wildcat" is a little too on the nose, it's still weirdly fun. The cello adds to the woozy feel of "Tropicana" while the simple breaks on "Kennedy" keep things moving until it finally decides to go deeper. "Swisha" almost sounds like it could be the backing of a fado, and the humorously named "Tacobel Canon" carefully avoids its reference until halfway through and forges its own path. Maybe not quite a classic, but good enough anyway.
