Reviews
- Edited 7 months agoMine (88875111921-5) was alarmingly poor from the first needle drop. Despite being clean, lots of crackle (like most 180g) and Paul Chambers (the bass player) sounded like he was simply plucking a tiny rubber band in another studio down the hall. Compared to the balanced clarity of my 1997 CD version, this is a pathetic Sony Legacy (We are vinyl) cashgrab. Methinks 180g cache has done its time. Sadly this was a gift from a dear friend, and so will keep in my collection.
- Terrible, had distortion and electric crackles right in the beginning of So What no less than 5 times! QC control is lacking in this version (2015, Sony)
- Mine is the Columbia release (Stereo - Fidelity at the very top on the front cover) and the one instrument you don't want to distort on any Miles Davis album is the trumpet and yet there it is, 30 seconds into side one sounding like broken kazoo. Nice pressing that's crackle-free but, if the trumpet and the top end sounds awful then really, what's the point. Definitely avoid. Still keen to find a pristine copy though, such a gorgeous album.
- My copy sounds fantastic, no surface noise to complain about. Great value for a new copy of this album at £15.99 in the UK.
- perfect ! a very good value for the price, sound is great and quiet ! I 'm very happy whit this copy
- Edited 2 years agoPerfect LP record!
Maybe luck or not. This sounds great. Bought in may 2016 for 12 € !!!!
Playing on a Rega planar 2 with a Ortofon M20 fineline. It's all there what I want from a record. Maybe some distortion in the end tracks, but that may depend on my setup.
Looking for an older release of the LP. I have remastered CDs of this.
Very enjoyable this release. I don't care if it's digital or anolog source. Sounds great!
Enjoy the music!
