Really enjoyed the couple of records that Loonie Bin have released so far. Obviously an outlet for music out of Vancouver that wouldn't really fit on any of the labels currently in the limelight. The music here is tough, especially with the abrasive sound all over the mix on the a-side - a funny contrast considering it samples Paul Horn, an early practitioner of new age music. The 'Nasty Mix' is quite obviously the work of Hashman Deejay with the phat, stoned lope on a dark hip-hop vibe, forming another interesting perspective on the original Paul Horn track sampled here. If you enjoy the b-side make sure to check Hashman's mix for Noise In My Head.- I'm guessing Jack J on side A and Hashman on side B.
Top release!!- the hiphop bside's got me thinkin' its hashman behind this one, anyone have any concrete info?
- I'm pretty certain Muscle Mix samples 'Dream Machine' from Paul Horn - Dream Machine. Seems like a all-inclusive Vancouver affair!
