Another sublime release from the much missed budget Caroline imprint. Hard to believe perhaps that Virgin Records were putting these records out in the mid '70s. Even harder to believe that Richard Branson was in any way responsible for them. It was Simon Draper who put the early Virgin roster together, and it was Draper who came up with the Caroline side project, presumably in a fever dream.

At the time this record acted as a sampler to find out if those '70s kids would buy into free improv. Who knew what those crazy kids were going to buy next, better cover all the bases. The Hans Reichel tracks are incredible. It's all good but Hans was a one-off genius.
