This album always amazes me for how absolute quiet the surface noise is. I have 100s of LPs new and old, and this thing stands as an amazing example of how perfect the medium can be - given the right conditions. I'm not sure if its a fluke, some of my other ECM albums aren't as good (i.e. Keith Jarret - The Köln Concert). This thing sounds as close being played directly from tape that I've ever heard, as in any noise heard literally sounds like soft tape hiss and just might be.

An absolute staple for anyone's 70's ECM/jazz fusion library. Have very fond memories of listening to this while on the way to the Santa Ynez Valley with a friend during the spring.

The title says it all. Music to rouse the spirit.
