My copy is not very noisy, but tracks A2 and B5 make about three clicks in a row, more audible, also, I noticed that tracks A5 and A6 sound different, I may need to clean the record...- Seems I was lucky with this one. The vinyl was spotless. A little distortion at the ends of both sides, but the album is a little long for a single record.
- Arguably the finest indie rock record ever recorded. Let's put to one side the opinions about sound quality on the variety of formats that this appears and appreciate instead the sheer power and nuance that this work musically represents. Analyze the lyrics, take on the meanings and observations and/or just try to absorb the fantastic dexterity of the musicianship of a band who at the time just f***ing nailed it. An album that is appreciated artistically now but continues to gain kudos as time passes and is exposed to a new generation of 90's rock lovers. As essential if not more so than Nevermind.
- Terribly dirty record packed tightly in a glossy paper sleeve. Needed a couple of runs through the record cleaner but now plays well. Sounds quiet and clean now. But it was seriously filthy!!
- Just got this. Good pressing and it sounds great at my side. Now I just wish they would reissue the US Mix of this album on vinyl too in due time. Coz that mix is also very good.
- I own 3 different vinyl versions and 3 cds of this masterpiece and i can state that my copy is dead quiet with superb clear sound like the cd but with the warm and the depth of vinyl.100% satisfied with this record.
- Edited 2 years agoTo say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Whole record is noisy but Mausoleum is borderline unlistenable. Genuinely couldn't finish listening to the album, returning immediately
- Edited 5 years agoMine is supper super noisy and distorted even after a wet vac cleaning played on a high end low output cartridge. Pretty disappointed
- Very good sound quality compared to previous vinyl issues. Half-speed mastering process I believe by Tim Young and James Dean Bradfield
