Salve Regina is a most significant successor to Gloria Dei, which has won acclaim from the thousands of persons who enjoy the excerpts from various masses and selection of hymns included in the first recording.
Salve Regina is the second recording, done by popular demand to perpetuate the traditional Latin and German sacred music sung by the Holy Ghost Church Choir during the past thirty years.
This recording was made in honor of Mary, Queen of Salvation. It features a favorite mass entitled "Salve Regina," composed by Friedrich Pustet.
Also, this record includes selected hymns which many of the parishioners learned as pupils of Holy Ghost School and enjoyed singing at the daily and Sunday masses.
We dedicated this record to our esteemed director, Francis L. Mies, whose love for sacred music and untiring efforts with the Holy Ghost Choir, the Catholic Pageants Choir, and the St. Theresa Choir has inspired many persons to a more meaningful and solemn participation in the mass and sacraments of the Church.
We sincerely hope this record will bring you a great deal of pleasure and bring back fond memories of the great music of the Latin mass. The "Salve Regina Mass" is one of these acknowledged outstanding musical compositions, the interpretation of which challenges the ability of both the director and choir members.
