Mouth to Mouth reminds me of jumping off a diving board again and again. Not exactly the most sophisticated way to entertain yourself, but still really entertaining.

Essentially a stupid "big" synth noise with some lfo modulation over a very rudimentary minimal techno backing and a frankly stupid "two-note" melody. If ever proof were needed that discogs ratings were useless...

Mouth to Mouth just doesn't do it for me, it has superb sound design maybe but it's arrangement is too mediocre for a typical 6 minute track, let alone a 12:54 one !!!

I definitely agree with the other guy that the b-side here is much more interesting, actually has something going/evolving in a minimal techno sort of style, still no cake though, but pretty good. As for the A-side, maybe it works in warehouse type enviornments or really slowed down druggy environments, I can see it work well there, but I won't suggest it for home listening.

Anyway I only rate 4 stars because of the sound design and inspiration this EP gives due to its originality.

Had to add my bit here- Time has moved on, but Matthew Dear is one talented soul. Thinking back to 2006, when first hearing this as it worked best- A very large warehouse stacked full of ravers- I see it in a different light to some reviews here. It might not do a lot as some put it, but its what it does, and what it doesn't do, that make this a demon of an intelligent production. Holding back the angst & teasing the crowd, this will rinse you out layer by layer & leave you dumbfounded. Its nothing short of a monster, and while not being something some would play right now, its one for the vault- a record you really should own if you appreciate creativity. A standout burning disco devil & complete insanity. Evil genius.

Damn it. first time I play this A side hymn at 45 rpm and it still is boring. This may be good at a dance with large speakers and then for 5 minutes or so, but for homelisiening ?
At 33 rpm the groove is even more accessible, but then that a side tune goes on forever..
Funny thing they never write infos like that on the records..LOL..
The b side is more interesting rhytmically and obviousely made for playng at 45 RPM. But te hit is on the looooong A Side

Well what can be said about such a genious piece of vinyl without using too much superlatives? Without doubt this will be - or already is - one of the super hits of the year 2006. Those "lasergun-sounds" really drive you crazy on the floor. they don't appear once, no they're coming again and again, and the bassdrum always kicks in when you don't quite expect it, but when it's the fucking best moment to do so. Genious piece of work!
