Reviews
- Please be warned that the case the CDs come in can cause scratching and/or put lines on the disc even when bought new. This due to the discs sticking slightly out of the bottom and top of the tight flat inlay sleeves - which are a struggle to pull disc out from.
- Pumping this one now, as a FLAC version from CD.
So far so good, no easy listening stuff but i like it - Edited 7 years agoI had the chance to listen to this album 3 times via BandCamp, i have to say i got a bit disappointed, plastikman retro style tracks are not impressive, but that´s because i´ve never been great fan of Plastikman old school, for me the best production of Plastikman is "Closer" which sounds more complete, melodic, rich and complex, "Artifakts BC", "Consumed" and "Ex" are also good Albums. Cd1 here is better than the second in my opinion, i like the tracks "No way back", "Stretching", "Creepr", "Excusion" (my favorite track), "Them" and also "gymnastiks" .The cd2 sounds too acid for my taste, too much rhythm and almost no melody, not much content here, the track that i like here is "Extensions", i knew "Expanded" already from the last Plastikman album "Ex", so i think there was no need to include in this release again that track, just because its a Fuse mixture.
- awesome release and one of the Highlights last Techno decade. cannot believe that a rating less then 5 stars is possible here.
- Edited 7 years agoRitchie Hawtin's brings his past, to the now! This is classic back-to-basics minimal & rooted acid-techno that brings back the post rave/early morning 90's techno sound back to the limelight. A moody yet dance engaging & deeply hypnotic listen through old school minimalistic structured music that still manages to feel fresh and addictive as ever. The raw minimal approach built around tight controlled acid-techno loops, 4/4 kick drum patterns, phasing in/out & tweaking ambient like atmospheres - whicht can be quiet hypnotic, and the techno bass hums all play with a sense of rawness that can be felt in its analogue sound as Hawtin's skill & composition, that he does so well, brings an effective, simple in approach, but memorizing pattern to his music that hooks you to the very end. This is music that unknowingly sinks into your mind and then captivates you without you knowing!!!
- Edited 7 years agoThe Cd inserts are really bad here, very unsual to put it out and then they are to tight for comfortable storgae and will unfortunately result in a really scratched and ruined CD Surface!
