- Bonzai is the track for me, ever since I heard it the first time in 1992 in the Statenhal in Den Haag. Clearly the Joey Beltram-solo track on the EP. Probably some synths added by Mr. Elstak.
- As good as Way Ah may be but unfortunately it was nothing more than a revamped version of https://www.discogs.com/Desperation-Our-Reservation-Remixes/release/142845 that was released a year earlier with added mentasm sounds.
Nevertheless, good EP but they had better collabs later on. - Edited 9 years agoHeard Beltram play "Way aah" December 92 at Brunels, Swindon. The tune blew the roof off. Groundbreaking Euro techno from back in the day!
Easygroove mixed 'Resonation' and 'Bonehead' at Obsession 'The Dream' event, Plymouth in February 1993. - This is an essential piece of vinyl if you are into your hardcore techno / gabba!!! I first heard a couple of the tracks when Easygroove played them at Obsession The Dream Feb 93 (those tracks being Resonation + Bonehead).
Way Ahh, is just a classic hard techno track with the mad sample "Way Ahh" with full on guitar riffs looped over the top, before the bassline kicks in. Awesome. But for the me, the best track on here is Resonation. Its just starts off heavy with the kick drum, before the clap starts, and then the fun really begins as the acid 303 sound just bubbles out of nowhere. Its just fucking awesome, full on pounding hard acid techno. Then of course you have Bonehead, which is a well known dance floor stomper! Again pounding off with kick drums, and cymbals, before the crazy noise starts, and then you have the sample "Hey Bonehead"! Its just crazy early gabba / hardcore techno madness!! The final track is Bonzai, which is the weakest track on the ep in my opinion, but i would still play it.
What can i say, but essential for early gabba and hardcore techno enthusiasts. By Far Beltrams best work. - Way Aah is a great track with an electric guitar sample with a vocal that says "cold rock a party till the am". Resonation is again a kickin track with a massive 303 line and a siren sound that fits perfectly. Bonehead is in my opinion a perfect hardcore track. It's a shame that Paul Elstak released a load of drivel from 1994 onwards(i.e. happy hardcore). I would highly recommend picking up this E.P.
