markus nikolai hits it way out of the park with this one. 'shake' is maybe the sexiest house track ever. to hear nikolai simultaneously croon and grunt his way through various pronominal variations of "i'm gonna make you hot" and "shake it" is mesmerizing. dimbiman's remix excels at merging nikolai's pop tendencies with his own dessicated, spiny techno, raising the tempo while giving nikolai's hooks and samples some elbow room. the b-side, 'work out' is comparatively innocuous, and funny, modulating a syrupy sample that recites, "you could try working out."

definitely one of perlon's best.
