- Sounds great! Modest Mouse is my favorite band so I picked this up for a nice treat. It sounds just like I I.agine the album should sound like. My copy has a bit of surface scuffs and marks but the playback is great. The bads is a little muffled but the album sounds great.

- Somebody stole my OG copy of this in Athens, GA, if you have it and see this please be a good person and give it back to me...
- Finally picked up an original, glad I did. It's an all around improvement over the reissue and this is actually one of the more dynamic records in my collection - though the vinyl is a bit noisy.
All of the original pressings of Modest Mouse on UP have been fantastic. - 90s vinyl gets crapped on a lot unfairly, and I would agree with a lot of the major acts / labels. They didn't care and cds were selling. But these indie and smaller labels crafted some amazing records. The Flaming Lips vinyl output was tremendous and some of the best records pressed. Rage's debut is incredible. Sub Pop pressed great records, Dischord and so on.
UP! Is no different and the space on Long Drive is magnificent and the thing just breaths. A lot of time was put into this debut. You can hear it immediately and all the way through. Plus, it has the UP! labels and those can't be beat. - Edited 2 years agoTo me there is a bigger difference between this pressing vs the reissues compared to Lonesome Crowded West and it's reissues. This instantly sounds better than all other versions, right away on Dramamine you hear it. Cymbals and Drums sound amazing, tighter and smoother than the vinyl reissues or CD. Vinyl is dead quite and mastered wonderfully, my go to copy from now on.
- Anyone know how many of these were pressed? I bought my copy back in the 1990s for $5 at Used Kids in Columbus Ohio.
- So, I have a copy of this album, and on side 'D' it has the wrong songs. Instead of having Make Everyone Happy, Space Travel is Boring, Edit the Sad Parts, and A Manic Depressive..., it has the songs from side 'D' of Lonesome Crowded West, Polar Opposites, Bankrupt on Selling, Lounge, and Styrofoam Boots. I've never come across something like this before and I was wondering if anybody else noticed this?
- Did anyone else notice Dramamine is misspelled on side A? Mine has "Dramanine" written as the first track.
