Reviews
- very late to the party on this one! but my pressing is superb - such an amazing album! Where have I been!
- Was initially quite worried upon reading the reviews of this album, because I felt it was a 50-50 percent chance of getting a good vs poor pressing. My local record store reassured me that it was a good pressing, so I bought one. My copy of this played beautifully - didn't have any issues with it! Guess I got lucky.
Agreed with the comments here on the good pressings - they play beautifully. - Edited 3 years agoI bought a used copy a few days ago. Before buying, I specifically said to the seller; 'This version received lots of negative feedback... it was reported that there were a lot of pop clicks and unwanted noise on the record. If your copy is like that, I don't want to buy it.'
Thereupon, the seller stated that he bought the record from amazon.fr and that there was no problem with the record. Then of course I bought it :) and last night I listened to it carefully from start to finish. I was very surprised while listening because unlike most of the commentators here, there was not even the slightest problem in the sound of the record..no pop click or crackle issue! and more importantly, the sound of the record is amazing.
So as a result, there are both good and bad copies of this version. I recommend that potential buyers who want to buy, talk about this issue with the seller before buying.
And I guarantee that if you can find a good copy, you'll have a great sounding record.
Note : tested by ortofon 2m bronze cartridge... - Lots of crackles and background noise throught whole LP. Bought it new and tried also ultrasonic clean it (sometimes it helps with new LPs) but nothing happened. Bad pressing.
- Edited 3 years agoMy copy is very good. Very few crakles here and there, mostly at the beginning of side A but nothing too terrible and the rest of the LP is perfect.
- Last year, my first attempt at buying this reissue LP was disappointing due to the extraordinary amount of static and surface noise in the pressing. I wrote to Schema and they were accommodating. They told me they would be repressing the LP in the Fall of 2020. September 15th 2020, they mailed me another copy and it plays dead quiet, pressed on center, not warped with fantastic sounding engineering. I am happy to finally have this music on clean sounding vinyl. Very pleased. You may want to contact Schema in Italy first and buy directly from them.
