Recorded at the Cryo Laboratory Studio, 1992.

This release is the CD version of the music composed for the french video game 'Dune' (developed & edited by Cryo Interactive, formerly known as Exxos), and based on the Frank Herbert's Dune universe.

The music in the IBM PC version of the game was in MIDI format, while the Amiga version uses the module format.

The game was distributed by Virgin, which is why this release was published by Virgin's Venture Records (UK) sublabel.

Found it once on a second hand store, as new, and gave it as a present to a friend who consider this as the best present he has ever received.

However, I still think it is not the best example of Stephane Picq and Philip Ulrich arrangements. It sounds too much like a tv documentary, it is very bombastic and too artificial. I am going to be one of those guys and say that the Adlib Gold is the definitive arrangement of these compositions, with probably the only good use of subwoofer and reverb, and a use of the Yamaha opl-3 chip that was barely seen on PC.

These guys did way better things with similar arrangements on later Cryo games like Atlantis. Not on this one. Adlib Gold. Even the 4 track mod Amiga one sounds better.

Yes, I am a nerd, thanks for noticing.
